He calls himself ‘Invader’. Inspired by the first-generation game called \u2018Space Invaders\u2019, this French artist ‘invaded’ Paris with his pixel art of alien creatures since 1998.<\/p>\n

In 2011 thousand mosaics of Space Invaders were numerable in the city. You may find them in all quarters and at the most unexpected places: at walls of corner houses, above street signs, at monuments, statue pedestals, metro entrances, bridges, flyovers, etc.<\/p>\n

The street artist works at night, always masked and armed with a ladder. The pixel mosaics are made of tiles with a size of one to about two and half square centimetre. They are stuck with strong cement or glue. Although his work is illegal and considered as polluting graffiti by some people, his art is still tolerated.<\/p>\n

Nowadays his pixel invasions can be found on the five continents in 38 cities like New York, Sao Paulo, Mombasa, Dhaka, Hong Kong, Vienne, Tokyo and even Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Therefore it is no surprise that many street artists have followed his example. But not many archive their forms of art so detailed, photograph and film them, create street maps indicating locations of their work and have expositions in galleries and museums!<\/p>\n
